Where has the time gone?
We've been home from our NYNY South Mission for nearly four weeks and we've hardly had time to breathe, let alone remanesce! With grandchildren's choir concerts, soccer and flag football games, unloading and unpacking our van, bridal preparations, showers and temple marriage for our oldest grand daughter, dental and doctor appointments, attending to my aging mom whose husband passed away last Thursday...we feel like we've been living in the middle of a whirlwind.
Within two days, we reported to the Stake Council, were released as missionaries by our stake president and have recently spoken at a combined adult meeting about the importance and necessity of seniors filling the call to serve a couple mission.
What we haven't had yet is our own ward "homecoming" - or as we refer to it - our "non-homecoming." In our large, active ward we have had two missionary "farewells" in the last three weeks. There just hasn't been any time for us old folks!
So finally...
We will report on our mission June 14

There will be mingling and munching afterward at the De Paula home.
PS: The question is often asked of us - "Will you go on another mission?" We smile and answer in whispered tones - "Our children and grandchildren won't let us say the "M word" right now."

you should come back to NY on another mission...seriously! We miss you here!!!
It's good seeing you again! Elder Maughan is still in Bay Shore with Elder Merrill. Miss your blog posts from the mission. I'll be in touch!
Sharon I am so excited to see you and hear your report! We had a senior non homecoming last week and then it hit me that I probably had missed yours! I am so glad that I didn't and yes..we will be there! Love you guys
So I'm just a week behind..sorry?
How was your homecoming? Please write about it for those of us who couldn't be there. Last Thursday night we had an "unofficial senior social" at Trattoria L'incontro, (on Ditmars and 31st.) We all talked about how much we miss you. It wasn't the same, so we guess it's time to head home!
Save the date: June 8th! We want to make good on our promise to take you out for dinner, and catch up on your lives. Our love to you and all your cute kids!
OK, so we need to come home! Everything, but mostly my brain has been impaired. Let me give you the right, "Save the Date." July 8th would be great, if you can! Love you, and it's time for our 1st mission reunion.
hello... hapi blogging... have a nice day! just visiting here....
Sister De Paula!!! I'm sure you won't remember me among the hundreds of missionaries at the CTM, but I was Sister Schwitters... now Sister Ussery with a husband & 3 kids. I was at the CTM from August - October 2003 and I felt such a connection to you. The reason for my searching you out--besides to see how this incredible couple is doing 7 years later--is to HOPEFULLY request some notes from you from a great lesson you gave in Relief Society one Sunday. It was a great break down of the Beattitudes and I remember a circular chart. Does this ring a bell? Get in touch when you have a spare moment @

You both just look great! You haven't posted in a while. Do you have a more recent site? What have you been up to since your homecoming last year?
Can't wait to hear from you!!
Love, Brooklynn
Hey we just thought about you, and remember at some point in time, someone told us you had a blog. It was easy to find you, and after reading a couple of your experiences we just had to say thanks once again for being part of our sealing. It meant the world. Also, here's the link to my Blog: abby.ordacowski.blogspot.com
Although we have been so far away for such a long period of time, Abby does a pretty good job of keeping family up to date through her blog. By the way, we will be living in UT again as of Jun 2011.
Diogo: Tio Lineu e Tia Sharon, lembramos de voces e decidimos procura-los na internet para mandar um oi e um grande abraco. Agradecemos novamente por sua presenca no nosso selamento. Ate a proxima.
Sorry,

Hello DePaula family--my parents Glenn and Ann Hawkes (you know both of them from Alpine, Ann was Ann Holt) just received a mission call to this mission! You should get together and chat about it sometime. They leave in August
