To Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Friends...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

"Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustian, and sorrow too. Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality especially while you struggle to keep your own." - Marguerite Kelly and Elia Parsons

"The goodness of home is not dependent on wealth, or spaciousness, or beauty, or luxury. Everything depends on the mother." -G.W.E. Russell

Thanks Nicole and Tiffany - your gifts are thoughtful and beautiful.

I woke up this morning after a busy weekend filled with YSA activities and I was happy to see your lovely thoughts on Mothers. Thanks! Hope you had a great one. For me, it is the most fulfilling and joyful of all my callings. Have a great week!

Bro. & Sis. De Paula,
So sorry, I am not very computer literate...so I just barely found the reply that you wrote to my comment in March! Had I known you had left a reply, I would have checked a lot earlier..so sorry! :(

Thank you for the kind things that you said about Sis. Rogers! We think she is pretty special! :)

Thank you Bro. De Paula for helping Sis. Rogers and Sis. Dymock on transfer day with their spare tire! Sis. Rogers said you saved the day! Again, it is so good to know she is surrounded by such wonderful people!

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I sure did! I was able to speak to Sis. Rogers and her brother, Elder Rogers in Virginia. We were even able to do a 3-way call so our two missionaries could talk to eachother! It was wonderful! Both of them say that their missions are the hardest and best thing they have ever done. They also agree missing home and family and Mom is the hardest part. Although I don't want them to be sad or homesick, it was good to know I am loved! I would also add my feelings, that sending my children on missions is the hardest and best thing I have ever done! They are truly missed.

Yes, Sis. Rogers is our oldest and only girl. She has 5 younger brothers. Grant 19 (a missionary in the West Virginia Charleston Mission) Bryce 15 (16 June 29th) Trent 14, Chase 9 and Eli 7. She is our sunshine, our girlie girl! I tried 5 times to get her a baby sister, but she tells me now that she likes being the only girl. She has never had a sister to share with, so serving a mission and living with other girls is an eye opening and interesting experience for her. She did live with roomates in Provo, so she kind-of knew what she was in for! So far, she says that she has had great companions! :)

Congratulations on your new beautiful grandson! What fun! I can't wait for my turn! I imagine being a Grandparent is the very best thing to be! I am so happy for you! :)

Your pictures are just beautiful! How fun that you get to travel around and see the sights! I think Sis. Rogers is a little jealous...she says the couple missionaries have different rules, and a lot more freedom! She is a huge fan of musicals, and can't wait to return after her mission to see a Broadway show!

We are planning a trip for the summer after Sis. Rogers and Elder Rogers return from their missions. (Summer 2010) We are going to take at least a month or two and travel from Idaho to New York, stopping to see the sights along the way. My husband works for the school district and has the whole summer off. I am self employed and can work from a computer anywhere, so we are hoping we can make it work. We are so excited to see where they served their missions, and meet the people that they served. It is something to look forward to.

Thanks for all you do! I don't know how you do it! I get tired just reading your blog! You two are amazing!

Give Sis. Rogers a hug from me next time you see her!

Much love,
Linda Rogers
