Our Homecoming...Life After the Mission

Where has the time gone?

We've been home from our NYNY South Mission for nearly four weeks and we've hardly had time to breathe, let alone remanesce! With grandchildren's choir concerts, soccer and flag football games, unloading and unpacking our van, bridal preparations, showers and temple marriage for our oldest grand daughter, dental and doctor appointments, attending to my aging mom whose husband passed away last Thursday...we feel like we've been living in the middle of a whirlwind.

Within two days, we reported to the Stake Council, were released as missionaries by our stake president and have recently spoken at a combined adult meeting about the importance and necessity of seniors filling the call to serve a couple mission.

What we haven't had yet is our own ward "homecoming" - or as we refer to it - our "non-homecoming."
In our large, active ward we have had two missionary "farewells" in the last three weeks. There just hasn't been any time for us old folks!

So finally...

We will report on our mission June 14
Canyon View Ward
11:00 am
4720 West 10470 North
Highland

The whole world is invited.

There will be mingling and munching afterward at the De Paula home.

PS: The question is often asked of us - "Will you go on another mission?" We smile and answer in whispered tones - "Our children and grandchildren won't let us say the "M word" right now."
